ABOUT US
The Maryland Senior Emergency Assistance Fund is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to providing a safety net for Maryland’s older adults during times of unexpected financial crisis. We believe that aging with dignity means having access to the basic necessities of life without the fear of sudden instability.
MISSION STATEMENT
To preserve the dignity and independence of Maryland’s seniors by providing immediate, one-time emergency financial assistance to address critical housing, utility, and medical needs.
PROGRAMS
Our primary initiative is the Emergency Assistance Program, which offers limited financial support to seniors aged 60 and older who are facing a short-term crisis. This program helps ensure that seniors can remain safe and stable in their own homes.
- Past-due utility bills (electric, water, gas)
- Rent or mortgage payments to prevent eviction or foreclosure
- Essential medical supplies or mobility aids
- Critical home safety repairs
WHO WE DO NOT SERVE
- Individuals under the age of 60
- Residents of states other than Maryland
- Requests for long-term, ongoing financial support
- Non-essential or luxury expenses
Please note that our funding is reserved for acute, one-time emergencies where a specific intervention can restore stability.
